AutoRestarter runs every 30 minutes globally on all enabled accounts.

First, you must switch from mobile/email authentication to desktop authentication on your steam account.

Afterwards, you can extract a code from your authentication file.

This code allows IdleSteam to generate login codes without your input:

IdleSteam can then start idles automatically.

Once per week Steam may update their services:

Your idle may go offline:

AutoRestarter can be enabled on your account to restart your idle automatically.

AutoRestarter is not enabled by default.

Once AutoRestarter is enabled with the authentication shared_secret code:

You will never have to worry about your idle going down again.

You will never have to worry about checking your idle again.

Your only worry is whether or not you have subscription time on your account remaining.

Instructions on setting up desktop authentication can be found below:

IdleSteam.com shared_secret tutorial

Written and compiled by: Ti Rone - Owner of IdleSteam.com

IMPORTANT: DO NOT SHARE YOUR shared_secret CODE. Please be VERY cautious where ever you place your shared_secret code.

Note: Once you get your shared_secret you will never need to enter your mobile auth code again, our servers will generate your auth code automatically even if you want to manually start your idles! We even offer a special feature to have your Auth codes generate on stidler.com itself

Note: If you are really struggling add me on Telegram

Worth reading: Mobile authentication no longer seems to work with AutoRestarter. Desktop authentication acts the same as mobile authentication on your Steam account.

To start, scroll down to:
'Getting Shared Secret from Steam Desktop Authenticator (Windows)' and follow the instructions.

It is very much worth setting up AutoRestarter so you don't have to worry about your idle ever again!
Just keep an eye on how much subscription time you have left!

Getting Shared Secret from Steam Desktop Authenticator (Windows)

NOTE: Leave the password popup box blank otherwise it will encrypt your shared_secret file.

Steam Desktop Authenticator: https://github.com/Jessecar96/SteamDesktopAuthenticator

First, loat the link above and scroll down to "Detailed setup instructions" and follow them to set up Desktop Authentication on your Steam account.

(If you get "error adding your authenticator", you may need the pre-release version.)

Then follow the instructions below:

To get the shared_secret, open your SteamDesktopAuth folder and open 'maFiles'

Open the file with your steamID in Notepad and your code will be inside.

If your shared_secret file is encrypted: CLICK MANAGE ENCRYPTION and leave the passkey as blank.

Inside of the file you will find a few entries you will need the code replaced with a hash below:

"shared_secret":"#############################",

Your shared_secret is the #############################, it does not include the quotes etc.

NOTE: To see if your shared_secret code is correct, the generated Auth Code on IdleSteam should match the auth code on your desktop app. That's how you know if it's worked or not!
